Living longer and looking younger is an extremely high priority for many. People do not want to appear old and most of us try to stay as youthful as possible both in appearance and nimbleness. People wanting to stay younger looking, try all kinds of anti-aging systems, from anti wrinkle creams and potions to botox injections and even surgery. Health spas providing rigorous exercise programs, special diets, massages and facials have become regular breaks for some.

Meditation is the most influential way to connect with your true, inner self. It can be as revitalizing as numerous hours of sleep and as rejuvenating as a long weekend away from the stressful and chaotic lifestyles that many of us are living.


People have understood for a long time that meditation has great health benefits that include enhanced energy and serenity of mind. Research also shows that meditation increases levels of melatonin, a vital hormone which supports the immune system, slows the aging process and the damage of cells. Melatonin promotes deep, restful sleep, improves energy and may even hold back the growth of cancer cells.


Scientific research shows that so many of the positive effects of Meditation are precisely opposite to the many detrimental effects of aging. In one particular study it showed that people who had been regularly practicing meditation for in excess of five years had bodies that were twelve biological years younger than their chronological age. (Biological age means the physical age of the body. Chronological age means actual age.) The same study showed that people practicing regular meditation for a short term were biologically five years younger.


Meditation is highly effective in reducing the damaging effects of stress, which can often cause untold strain to the immune system. The health benefits of meditation are endless. Research has scientifically proven that meditation is a safe and simple way to balance your physical, emotional, and mental state and its countless values have been known and practiced for thousands of years. More and more doctors are prescribing meditation to cure many stress related illnesses including anxiety, trauma, insomnia and heart disease.
